The knots serve as the foundation of the closure, and initially, they may appear somewhat dark when you first wear the wig.

- Apply a high-quality powder-based hair bleach to the affected region, adjusting the amount as needed.

- Choose a developer with a volume of 20 or 30.

- Prepare a mixing basin, either plastic or glass.

- For precise measures, use a 1-ounce measuring cup.

- For application, use a hair color applicator brush.

- During the procedure, put on disposable gloves.

- Keep aluminum foil on hand for special occasions.

- For ease, mount a Styrofoam head using T-pins.

BLEACHING THE KNOTS: STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Set up your workspace: To safeguard the work area, cover a flat surface with a taut plastic bag. Position an empty plastic bag on the table or the designated area for bleaching your lace closure. Flatten the bag with your hands to create a stable base for your closure during the entire bleaching procedure.

 

2. Get the Bleach Ready: When handling bleach, it's essential to don gloves and wear an old T-shirt. Ensure your hands and clothing are protected by wearing gloves and old, disposable attire during the bleaching process. 

• In a mixing bowl, blend 1-2 tablespoons of bleach powder. Employ a regular spoon to transfer the bleach powder into the mixing bowl. Unless you're creating a large bleach mixture, refrain from overloading the spoon with powder; opt for two moderate, average-sized spoonfuls instead.
• Add one capful of 20-40 volume developer to the bleach powder. Dispense a small portion of the developer product into the mixing bowl. 
• Blend the bleach and developer until they form a dense paste. Utilize either a spoon or a plastic application brush to amalgamate the powder with the developer. Keep stirring until the mixture achieves a thick, smooth consistency without any lumps.  

3. Use the Bleach Mixture: Employ a plastic-bristle brush to apply the bleach in sections. Submerge the application brush into the bleach mixture and gently dab the product onto the lace. Ensure a thin layer of bleach is applied to prevent it from seeping into the roots. Leave for about 10 to 20 minutes depending on the texture of the hair.

4. Rinse the bleach off: Use cool water to rinse the bleach from the lace closure. Rinse the closure inside out to prevent bleach from reaching the rest of the lace.

•  Apply a neutralizing shampoo wash to deactivate the bleach, massaging it into both the lace and hair sections. Let the shampoo sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off

• To keep the closure smooth and soft, apply conditioner and leave it on for at least 5 minutes before washing it off.

5. Dry the hair: Brush through the washed closure and place it on a towel in a well-ventilated area to allow for ample airflow. Alternatively, you can expedite the drying process by using a hair dryer.

TIPS: Wig bleaching should be done according to your skin color, that is, it must match your skin to avoid irregular looks.
