IN AJAOKUTA KOGI STATE, BANDITS KILLED THREE PEOPLE, INCLUDING AN INDIAN EXPATRIATE

On Friday night, which is the 5th of August 2022, it was reported that a coaster bus conveying some workers of the West African Ceramics Ajaokuta area of Kogi State was attacked by bandits with a lot of ammunition.



According to sources, the bus took the workers who were living their workplace to their various homes after close of work same day. These bandits attacked the bus with gun fires which killed three people among-st which were a Mopol officer and an Indian expatriate.  

The Identity of the third body is yet to be known.

Last week, in the same Ajaokuta, bandits also a kidnapped a young boy from the town and are requesting a huge sum from parents and family members.

The Inspector General and Police are working to find the location of these bandits to rescue the boy and apprehend the perpetrators.

In addressing the issue of insecurity in Ajaokuta, everyone have been advice to be security conscious at all times.

N16.6 MILLION WON BY UBA CUSTOMERS IN THE SUPER SAVERS PROMO

 United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has recompense its true customers a total of N16.6 million in cash in the UBA Super Savers draw.



The draw was held at the Tony Elumelu Amphitheatre at the UBA Head Office during the weekend, which was witnessed by reporters as well as representatives of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) and the Consumer Protection Council (CPC).

For the Bumper account draw, Elisha Zari Yusuf, a UBA Bumper account holder, emerged winner of the N2million prize; Naomi Ogoma Aba, another loyal customer of the bank won N1.2million; while Veronica Misimawu Logbo, was rewarded with N500,000.

The 20 winners of N100,000 each were: Oluchukwu Philomena Aliuna, Olewu Stella Chinyere, Sola Friday Bamidele, Sarafadeen Emitomo Sunkanmi; Jamila Usman; Rabiu Ibrahim Mahammed, Fine Ughelli, Anietie Sunday Akaninyi, Gloria Folake Oteji, Rabiu Ahmed Imam, Prestige Chukwuemeka Chima, Ifeanyi Okechukwu, Titilayo Mufutiat Leyeni, Aminat Abisola Adenusi, Nasir Umar Ismail, Musa Salisu, Chibueze  Emeka, Ali  Isla, Onireti Babatunde Charles and Ayoola Daniel Oyemomilara.

The above amounts to 12 persons who won  N13.2million and one person got N500,000,.20 Bumper Account holders won N100,000 each and 10 Savings Account customers got N1 million each; and five NextGen customers got N15,000 per person  monthly for a year.

UBA’s Head, Personal Banking, Ogechi Altraide congratulated everyone of winners as she said

FBN HOLDINGS GROWS BY 99.1% TO N166 BILLION

 FBN Holdings, the parent company of First Bank Limited has declared a 99.1% growth in profitability to N166.7 billion for the full year ended December 2021.



 The Company disclosed that in their year end December 2021 financial statements they grew in profitability which defied decline in net interest income, was driven by 96.1% upsurge in Non Interest income during the year, to N364.6 billion in 2021 from N185.9 billion in 2020.


In their audit, result shows that gross revenue rose by 28.2% to ₦757.3 billion in 2021 from N590.7 billion in 2020. This follows a 30.0% growth in loans and advances to ₦2.9 trillion from N2.22 trillion in 2020, as well as a 19.5% increase in Customers Deposit to N5.9 trillion in 2021 from N4.9 trillion in 2020. The company recorded a 16.2% growth in total assets to ₦8.9 trillion in 2021 from N 7.7 trillion in 2020.

Also enhancing the profitability growth, was improvement in the Asset Quality and Risk Management of the company, which led to further reduction in Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio to 6.1% from 7.7% in 2020.
