N16.6 MILLION WON BY UBA CUSTOMERS IN THE SUPER SAVERS PROMO

 United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has recompense its true customers a total of N16.6 million in cash in the UBA Super Savers draw.

The draw was held at the Tony Elumelu Amphitheatre at the UBA Head Office during the weekend, which was witnessed by reporters as well as representatives of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) and the Consumer Protection Council (CPC).

For the Bumper account draw, Elisha Zari Yusuf, a UBA Bumper account holder, emerged winner of the N2million prize; Naomi Ogoma Aba, another loyal customer of the bank won N1.2million; while Veronica Misimawu Logbo, was rewarded with N500,000.

The 20 winners of N100,000 each were: Oluchukwu Philomena Aliuna, Olewu Stella Chinyere, Sola Friday Bamidele, Sarafadeen Emitomo Sunkanmi; Jamila Usman; Rabiu Ibrahim Mahammed, Fine Ughelli, Anietie Sunday Akaninyi, Gloria Folake Oteji, Rabiu Ahmed Imam, Prestige Chukwuemeka Chima, Ifeanyi Okechukwu, Titilayo Mufutiat Leyeni, Aminat Abisola Adenusi, Nasir Umar Ismail, Musa Salisu, Chibueze  Emeka, Ali  Isla, Onireti Babatunde Charles and Ayoola Daniel Oyemomilara.

The above amounts to 12 persons who won  N13.2million and one person got N500,000,.20 Bumper Account holders won N100,000 each and 10 Savings Account customers got N1 million each; and five NextGen customers got N15,000 per person  monthly for a year.

UBA’s Head, Personal Banking, Ogechi Altraide congratulated everyone of winners as she said 

     "At UBA, we are all about encouraging our customers to imbibe the savings culture, to be able to achieve their dreams, while putting away something for the future. This time around, we have given away huge prizes as can be seen today; with the aim of appreciating our customers who believe in us and have trusted the bank with their funds."

She went further to speak to those who did not win as thus:

         "“If you didn’t win today, there are more opportunities for winning; as UBA has monthly; quarterly and even targeted draws; and so, I advise new customers to quickly key in by dialling *919*20 to be qualified to participate,”

WHY MOST LIFE-LONG SMOKERS DO NOT GET LUNG CANCER

 According to a scientists at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, some smokers may have robust mechanisms that protect them from lung cancer by limiting mutations.

It is widely known that cigarette smoking is the major cause of lung cancer, yet only a minority of smokers develop the disease. Simon Spivack, M.D., M.P.H., a co-senior author of the study, professor of medicine, of epidemiology & population health, and of genetics at Einstein, and a pulmonologist at Montefiore Health System also said as thus:

    
“This may prove to be an important step toward the prevention and early detection of lung cancer risk and away from the current herculean efforts needed to battle late-stage disease, where the majority of health expenditures and misery occur,”

The Einstein researchers used SCMDA to compare the mutational landscape of normal lung epithelial cells that is, cells lining the lung from two types of people: 14 never-smokers, ages 11 to 86; and 19 smokers, ages 44 to 81, who had smoked a maximum of 116 pack years.

According to them, One pack year of smoking equals 1 pack of cigarettes smoked per day for one year. The cells were collected from patients who were undergoing bronchoscopy for diagnostic tests unrelated to cancer.

The researchers found that mutations are accumulated in the lung cells of non-smokers as they age and so more mutations were found in the lung cells of the smokers.

As Dr. Spivack said “This experimentally confirms that smoking increases lung cancer risk by increasing the frequency of mutations, as previously hypothesized,” “This is likely one reason why so few non-smokers get lung cancer, while 10% to 20% of lifelong smokers do.”

From their findings, the number of cell mutations found in lung cells increased in a straight line with the number of pack years of smoking therefore, the risk for lung cancer increased as well. However, the rise in cell mutations halted after 23 pack years of exposure.

Demna Gvasalia presented his Spring 2023 collection for Balenciaga in New York City, which featured a handful of garments created in collaboration with Adidas Originals .

FBN HOLDINGS GROWS BY 99.1% TO N166 BILLION

 FBN Holdings, the parent company of First Bank Limited has declared a 99.1% growth in profitability to N166.7 billion for the full year ended December 2021.

 The Company disclosed that in their year end December 2021 financial statements they grew in profitability which defied decline in net interest income, was driven by 96.1% upsurge in Non Interest income during the year, to N364.6 billion in 2021 from N185.9 billion in 2020.

In their audit, result shows that gross revenue rose by 28.2% to ₦757.3 billion in 2021 from N590.7 billion in 2020. This follows a 30.0% growth in loans and advances to ₦2.9 trillion from N2.22 trillion in 2020, as well as a 19.5% increase in Customers Deposit to N5.9 trillion in 2021 from N4.9 trillion in 2020. The company recorded a 16.2% growth in total assets to ₦8.9 trillion in 2021 from N 7.7 trillion in 2020.

Also enhancing the profitability growth, was improvement in the Asset Quality and Risk Management of the company, which led to further reduction in Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio to 6.1% from 7.7% in 2020.

HEADIES AWARD 2022: PORTABLE (ZAZOO) THROW THREATS ON WHOEVER WINS OVER HIM

 After the  list of the full Headies nominees was released,  Portable took to his Instagram page state how displease he will be if he doesn't win and he also made some threats against whoever wins the  2022 Headies Award over him as he was nominated twice.         

In the video he posted on his instagram page which has been circulating on social media, he stated why he deserved to win over the other nominees in his native language - Yoruba

He claims his single ‘Zazuu Zeh’ is far popular than other songs on the list and which is  widely known on the street compared to his fellow nominees. He added that should he fail to win, he will kill whoever beats him to the awards.

He hopes to beat other newbies to the Rookie of the year prize and he will be facing rigid opposition from other street jams for the Street hop single of the year.

UV rays from the sun affects the skin which are responsible for sunburn and aging. Using sunscreen protects you from UV rays and it is in the sunscreen we have SPF. It is very important to always wear sunscreen whether indoors or outdoors.

Face mask drops benefit ingredients on the face that improves the appearances and quality of the skin. Your skin needs to be clean before applying face mask this is to avoid bacteria from getting into the skin. You can use eye mask as well. Plaid shirts popularly called Checkers shirt is one fashion trends that is never outdated. In this post, we will  be using both ( Plaid or Checkers) interchangeably. Checkers shirt has been in existed for a long time and still trending. 

Styling your plaid shirts might seem difficult sometimes, however wearing it the normal or basic way makes the wearing the shirt quite archaic.

A polo under a plaid or checkers shirt is also an outstanding fashion game. The amazing thing is that, it doesn't have to be sneakers alone, heels or boots can go well with this. Black and white polo or round neck shirt is usually the colour you can wear regardless of the colour of the plaid shirt. So always pick a polo colour that goes well with the checkers shirt.

Checker on turtle neck or high neck tops is also an appealing fashion combo. High necks always give an appearance, great look, so imagine wearing a checker on it. This look alone is a whole lot as it is good for all body types.

The sleeves of the checker can be folded up with your short skirt. This is a sweet combination

Look at this, turtle neck in your checkers, this time instead of trouser is a short skirt.

And this is also  very simple but stylish, your polo in your plaid shirt and short skirt. 

Checker on biker shorts. This look is amazing in this summer. Now look at the high boots, it is giving. This look I must rock. This is absolutely simple and chic.

We've been talking about polo or round neck shirts under a checker. How about a polo on top of a checker? If you like being a tomboy, then this look is for you. Rock you big on checkers with your trouser or even  skirt.
